This scholarship is for nontraditional students (Adult Learners) who are permanent residents of Sarasota County and who are enrolled in either the Sarasota Technical College, Manatee Technical College, or the American Red Cross Certified Nursing Assistant Program.
The Father Connie Dougherty Scholarship Fund may be used to further education at a college, university or institution of higher learning, including vocational training. All Sarasota County high school seniors and recent graduates of Sarasota County public and private high schools may apply. Student must be under the age of 24 to be eligible.

The Florida Association of Destination Marketing Organizations, through the Community Foundation of Sarasota County, is pleased to offer the Dave Warren Scholarship Fund. This exciting scholarship opportunity is available to college juniors who plan to make a career in the hospitality industry within the State of Florida. Selection criteria includes the personal goals of the student, financial need and community involvement. Receive money for school and recognition of the award at the Governor’s Conference on Tourism.

This scholarship is for applicants who will be categorized as a second-year law student when beginning school in the Fall of 2017. Students must be studying at one of the following law schools: The University of Florida Levin College of Law, Florida State University College of Law, the Florida A & M University College of Law, Stetson University College of Law, Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center, St. Thomas University School of Law, Florida Coastal School of Law, Florida International University College of Law, or Barry University Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law. The scholarship will be awarded in the Spring of 2017 for Fall 2017 disbursement in the amount of $2,500. The scholarship award may be renewable for an additional semester, resulting in financial assistance totaling $5,000 during his or her time in law school.
The Joe Turnesa Memorial Fund of the Community Foundation of Sarasota County was established by the members of the Sara Bay Golf and Country Club for the benefit of Greater Sarasota Junior Golfers. Its purpose is to provide scholarships to active members of the Greater Sarasota Junior Golf Association or to golfers who participated in the Donald Ross Tournament.
This application is for students who are, but not limited to, residents of Sarasota and Manatee Counties who plan to participate in a distinct educational program, opportunity or event which may be beyond the typical educational format. The program must be focused on preparation for a professional career in the performing arts. While this scholarship is intended primarily for high school seniors, it may also be awarded to students regardless of age, accepted to first tier professional schools, including ballet schools, provided there is an academic component in addition to the performance arts component to the program. Graduate studies in a professional program are also acceptable.
This scholarship is for students who are, but not limited to, residents of Sarasota and Manatee Counties, who are pursuing professional careers in theater and the performing arts including ballet. Some specific careers deemed appropriate for this scholarship include but may not be limited to: Musical theater including acting, singing and dancing; Acting; Classical Dance/Ballet; Scenery Design; Costume Design; Sound Design; Projection Design; Directing; Choreography; Play-writing/Musical Theater Book Writing; Musical Theater Musical Composition and Lyric Writing.
The purpose of the scholarship is to provide a graduating senior of underrepresented, minority background (e.g. race, color, religion, national origin, ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, or physical disability) with scholastic financial support for attendance at a college or university for the year 2017. Applications will be open to graduating high school seniors who are candidates to complete Booker High School's Law Academy.

This scholarship provides financial support for current BSN candidates in the SNAC Region (Sarasota, Charlotte, Manatee, & Desoto Counties). The goal is to increase the number of bachelor’s prepared nurses who are working within the Suncoast Nursing Action Coalition (SNAC) region. The amount awarded per person may vary and is at the discretion of the SNAC selection committee. Award amounts will be based on individual need as determined by documented sources of support (e.g. scholarships, grants) with a minimum award amount of $2,500.
