Dealing with Difficult Families and Deceitful Fiduciaries: Takeaways from November's Distinguished Speakers Series

Thank you to everyone who attended the November Distinguished Speakers Series programs, and a special thanks to our speaker, Professor Roberta (Bobbi) Flowers. The event had a great turnout, with 100+ attendees learning about how to deal with difficult families and what ethical issues to consider when working with fiduciaries. Programs were held at the beautiful Carlisle Inn.

How to Deal with Difficult Families

During the morning program, Professor Flowers discussed the challenges that arise when working with family members and how to handle the ethical issues that emerge in these situations. Interactive polls in the presentation gave the audience an opportunity to analyze a possible real-world scenario and consider the best methods to move forward.

Fiduciary Representation

At the lunchtime program, Professor Flowers discussed how to best represent fiduciaries and navigate the possibility of dangerous ethical issues. The presentation explained what an ideal relationship looks like between attorney, fiduciary, and client, and how to start the relationship off of the right foot, noting the consequences that can result from misconduct.
