Community Foundation of Sarasota County Appoints Vice President of Finance, Director of Community Impact

Sarasota, FL – The Community Foundation of Sarasota County has announced the appointment of a financial investment strategist as the Vice President of Finance and the selection of an expert on policy and education as a new Director of Community Impact.

Tracey McIntosh has been named the Vice President of Finance at the Foundation. McIntosh brings more than 20 years of expertise in accounting, leadership development, investment, and strategic planning for an array of organizations, from Fortune 100 companies to start-up companies. Most recently, she served as Chief Financial Officer for a family office in Sarasota, managing assets for high-net-worth individuals.

After a career in finance that began at Price Waterhouse Coopers, McIntosh took a sabbatical in 2015, traveling to 50 countries. In the respite from working, she found herself helping “people find their way, financially,” advising individuals to stretch their dollars.

She’d initially imagined returning from her travels to Sarasota and going back into private family wealth management, but her experiences helping from the heart prompted her bid for the VP of Finance role at the Community Foundation.

“I wanted to be able to use my expertise in a place where I could help a large amount of people,” she said. “I have all these skills. I would like to make a bigger impact.”

AmeriCorps alumna Jamie Kattrein has been named Director of Community Impact, where she’ll manage a portfolio of grants and initiatives with a focus on education, the arts, and humanities.

Kattrein most recently served as Vice President of Programs for Girls Inc. of Sarasota County, where she cultivated partnerships with schools and organizations to develop programming that supports education, mental health, and post-secondary success.

She earned a master’s degree in Public Policy and is driven to help empower the most vulnerable individuals, focusing on the intersection of poverty, education, and family. She said she feels that her experience with communities, combined with her innovation, will help her serve the mission of Community Impact.

“My greatest strength lies in examining the details in an organization and envisioning what could make it more sustainable or make it more collaborative, and help it scale up in impact,” she said. “I’m always thinking ‘what’s the next step?’”

Community Foundation President and CEO Roxie Jerde said that as community needs become increasingly complicated, it is vital to hire talented, invested leaders to increase the capacity of the Foundation.

“These two individuals bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to our Foundation, which in turn will deepen and broaden the impact we have,” Jerde said. “The experience and expertise of Tracey and Jamie helps us address the issues of today, and to be able to support sustainability in enriching initiatives that make our community a better place for generations to come.”
