Mischa Kirby, APR

Mischa Kirby, APR, is Vice President of Strategy & Communications at the Community Foundation of Sarasota County.

As a member of the foundation’s leadership team, Mischa is responsible for developing our strategic position and long-range planning. She leads the teams responsible for assessing and analyzing community needs to inform charitable giving, and sharing successes, solutions, and partnership opportunities to improve our community through external communications, including public relations, marketing and events.

An accredited professional with more than 25 years of experience, Mischa combines her experiences in journalism, agency, and nonprofit management to develop long-term relationships and programs that are shared through thoughtful (and award-winning) communications campaigns.

Mischa earned a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Florida and holds an accreditation in public relations (APR) from the Universal Accreditation Board. In 2022 she successfully completed Harvard Kennedy School's Executive Education Program "Leadership, Organizing and Action: Leading Change." Mischa joined the foundation in 2018 and has held various volunteer roles in the community, including the Florida Public Relations Association, and Leadership Sarasota.

Mischa and her husband, Chet, live in Venice with their teenage daughter. Mischa enjoys spending time outdoors, gardening and golfing as well as reading, yoga, and poetry.
