Our Staff

Julie Avins is Controller at the Community Foundation, responsible for leading and overseeing day-to-day accounting functions, financial analysis, reporting and internal controls of the Community Foundation of Sarasota County and its supporting organization, Manatee Community Foundation. This includes budgeting, account reconciliation, vendor management, fund accounting, grant administration, tax filings, and leading the annual audit process.

Julie believes that the best part about her job is physically seeing how philanthropic people are in the community when she issues all the grant checks.

Outside of work, Julie enjoys spending time with her children, family, and friends. She is an avid volleyball player and also likes to play golf. Most weekends she can be found at the beach soaking up the sun.
